Delegation from Universitas Hasanuddin Explores Collaboration Opportunities with Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences

On April 22, 2024, a delegation from the Directorate of Reputation Enhancement of Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), led by Director of Reputation, Prof. Rohani Ambo Rappe, and Reputation Sub-Director, Dr. Haerani, along with six delegates, visited the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences (GSCAAS). The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) stands as a national institution dedicated to agricultural research, technology dissemination, and education, continually striving to address a wide spectrum of challenges in agricultural sustainability through groundbreaking research and technology transfer.   During this visit, Unhas delegation was welcomed by Prof. Wang Xunqing, Director of the International Education Office, along with Zhang Mingjun, Deputy Director, and project coordinators Qin Lei and Tu Chaoqun from the GSCAAS International Education Office. The delegation was privileged to tour the renowned National Crop Genebank of China (NCGC), the second-largest gene bank in the world, which serves as a paramount center for the long-term preservation of crop germplasm resources and research on germplasm preservation technologies. Additionally, they visited the Agriculture Science and Technology Innovation Park. Both parties engaged indiscussions regarding the further development of collaboration in graduateeducation and student exchange programs. Prof. Wang warmly welcomed thedelegations and provided an overview of GSCAAS, emphasizing its commitment tointernational students’ education and fostering international cooperation. Heexpressed his sincere hope for increased participation of young Indonesianscientists in the field of agriculture at GSCAAS in the future. In response, Prof. Rohani Ambo Rappe expressed gratitude for the warm reception extended by Prof. Wang and colleagues. She emphasized that Universitas Hasanuddin’s Agriculture and Forestry department ranks #300-350 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject. She conveyed her optimism that through mutual efforts, collaboration between Unhas and GSCAAS would yield fruitful outcomes. Unhas Actively Engages in QS China Summit 2024: Positive Impact on Higher Education Development

Shanghai, China – The QS China Summit 2024 held on April 17-18, 2024, at Conrad Shanghai, not only served as a crucial platform for global higher education development but also highlighted the significant role of Hasanuddin University (Unhas).
